Sherry Smith RN, MSN, MBA has nearly 20 years experience with Telephonic Health Care services to include all aspects of call center operations for both Demand, Care and Disease management services. She also provides legal advice and review of triage cases for a number of attorneys. Prior to forming 3CT, Ms. Smith was the Senior Consultant for 3CN (Call Center Consulting Network) where she consulted 8years for a variety of health call centers domestically and internationally. Services include URAC and NCQA readiness, call center operations due diligence, and optimization of technologies and processes. Prior to joining 3CN, Ms Smith was the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Intellicare, where she was responsible for the overall clinical operations, including staff recruitment and development, CQI, policies and procedures, risk management and triage content review. Ms. Smith was instrumental in the development of the nations' largest distributed remote workforce of RNs, delivering services from home and maintaining competency through CBT programs. Under her guidance, the company achieved and maintained HCC URAC accreditation.
Sherry previously served as the Manager of 24 Hour Services for Alicare Medical Management, a call center which uniquely combined UR, case management and referral network services integrated with the triage product line. She currently maintains a part-time position with the Joint Commission as a DSC (Disease Specific Certification) Reviewer for centers of excellence.
Ms. Smith is a nationally recognized speaker on call center issues such as Remote Workforce Management, Operational and Legal Concerns, CQI, Standards and Accreditation, Shared Governance, and Hiring and Screening Telehealth Candidates. She is an active member of AAACN and the Telephone Nursing Practice (TNP) SIG, having also published for the View Points Magazine and instrumental in editing and revisions for the National Practice Standards. Ms Smith teaches the TNPCC course as well. She has also published for Answer STAT on Lean Six Sigma and developing call centers for Ambulatory Care Clinics. Ms. Smith was a member of the NCC Content Team which was responsible for writing the examination questions for the first TNP National Certification. She is the past Vice President of the New Hampshire Nurses Association. Sherry Smith holds a Masters Degree in Nursing Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's of Business Degree in Leadership from Franklin Pierce College.
